Ferges verore me speca
The Albanian dish made with peppers, tomatoes, and cottage cheese, is one of the tastier and best. Because it is a classic dish of Albania’s central region, you’ll find it largely in Tirana and the neighboring areas. The fresh ingredients are boiled together to produce a cream, which is served with handmade bread.

Tavë Kosi
Another must-try cuisine in Albania is Tav Kosi, which is one of the country’s most popular dishes. It is typical of Elbasan, a city near Tirana, although it may be found across Albania, from mountain hamlets to seaside cities. Lamb, eggs, and yogurt make up Tav Kosi, a delightful quiche-like dish.

Speça me gjize

Yellow, orange, green, and red peppers are packed with rice, cottage cheese, and spices before being cooked in the oven, making Speça me gjize one of the country’s most colorful and delectable dishes. It’s a nutritious option that’s also a terrific vegetarian dish (Albanian cuisine has many of vegetarian options).

Qofte
One of Albania’s most popular meat meals is qofte, or grilled meatballs. Qofte is typically seasoned with spices and mint, and eaten with raw onion and salad. Kernaçka, a different type of meatball typical to Korça, one of Albania’s most prominent towns, is a variety of qofte.

Perime ne Zgare

In Albania, as well as the rest of the Balkans, grilled veggies are popular. Eggplants, zucchini, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and other vegetables are served as an appetizer or as a side dish to main courses. Don’t worry if you’re a vegetarian; perime ne zgare can be found even in grill establishments.

Grilled meat

Grilled meat, known as zgara in Albania, is one of the most popular dishes. It can be found in a variety of places, including eateries near the shore, but usually in traditional grill houses. Enjoy a large platter of various grilled meats, a salad, and a local beverage!

Fish

Albania is known for its seafood due to its location on the sea. Fresh, good fish may be had for less than €10 ($12) in restaurants along the shore and in the key cities along the Riviera, such as Vlora and Saranda. A must-do in Albania is to eat fresh seafood while admiring the spectacular sea views from restaurant patios.
